🔑 Key Priorities

  • Early recognition of partial airway obstruction

  • Prompt treatment with oxygen, nebulised adrenaline, and steroids

🧠 Team Actions

Role

Task

Team Leader

Diagnose, initiate airway support, call for help

Airway Manager

Position patient, apply Oâ‚‚, prepare for reintubation

Assistant

Administer adrenaline + steroids, monitor vitals

🧭 Management Algorithm

  1. Audible stridor, use of accessory muscles, agitation

  2. High-flow oxygen via facemask

  3. Nebulised adrenaline (5 mL of 1:1000)

  4. Dexamethasone 4–8 mg IV

  5. Sit patient upright if possible

  6. Prepare for urgent reintubation if deteriorating

🔄 Ideal Crisis Flow

      Noisy Breathing + Agitation Post-Extubation
                    ↓
High Flow Oâ‚‚ + Nebulised Adrenaline + Steroids
                    ↓
Sit Upright + Prepare Reintubation Plan
                    ↓
       Urgent Intubation if Worsening Obstruction
